Founded in 2002 as “Action Chairs” and located in Fort Wayne, Indiana,
Mobility Sports designs, builds and distributes hand crafted adapted sports
equipment. Our primary focus is sled hockey equipment and sled hockey
sticks, but we have built a few custom chairs as well.

As the father of a now 19-year-old son with Spina Bifida,
I founded Action Chairs with the idea that there had to be
more to a wheelchair than just four tires and a seat.  With
this in mind, Randy set out to design and develop a
wheelchair that defied conventional wisdom and truly
showed  that  innovation could be had in the wheelchair
industry.  From this idea, the patented
AC-1 was born.
Unlike other suspension chairs that provide cushion for the rider, the
AC-1 was designed to not only provide cushion for
the rider, by isolating the seating system from the
wheels, but to make the chair push easier; after all
isn't that what every manual wheelchair user
desires? The AC-1 could be described as an
“Urban Chair” designed to flex and roll over small
obstacles like sidewalk cracks, the gravel in your
driveway, or the threshold of your doorway.

In 2006 we officially changed our name to Mobility
Sports. As we have continued to grow as a
company, the name Mobility Sports seemed to be a
    more fitting name.

We hope you check back often as we intend to
continue to improve our products, based on the
    needs of our customers.

    Sincerely,   Randal J Kwapis
